As a pitcher you need to know the umpire strike zone. If you throw the ball inside two or three times and don't get a called strike you need to see if by throwing the ball about an inch off the oustide coner of homeplate 95% of time he'll call it a strike that's his zone, the same high and low. Umpires are humane during a game they have to make 250 split-second decision every game their going to miss their share. Don't say you dumb-dumb you cost me the game. You tell them it's OK and move on. Umps never make fun of you when you hang a curve and giving up a homerun. If you need every call to go your way, your not a very good pitcher. Have confident in yourself to make another great pitch. Keep a good mind set, see his strike zone and you can win of course not every game. |
