I lived in a town called Lebanon, PA. with my grandparent's which i called Ma and Pap's. In the month of Aug. the Lebanon Steel Co. held their street fair an invited Babe Ruth. Pap's was a security guard for the company and they ask him to hit against Babe Ruth to see which one who could hit the ball the furthest. Of course this was to get a large crowd to the fair. Pap's was a huge man at 6'6" a t 265lbs. an all muscle, babe was Hugh to. It drew the largest crowd in the history of the fair. They set up home plate 500' from the fairest wheel. they each got 10 balls to hit. Pap's hit the ball three times right at the base of the fairest wheel, the crowd cheered and applauded him. The Babe hit four to the same place, except for the 10th ball he hit the ball over the fairest wheel WOW it went over 600'. Of course the crowd went nut's did you see that WOW what a hit, i think my eyes opened to the size of an egg i ran and graped Pap's leg and said wow did you see how far that ball went and Pap's said to me that's why he's the greatest. The great moment came when the Babe came over and said to Pap's you sure can hit a ball a long way, pap's said i knew you could to. The babe then said hi their young boy what's your name i said jim he picked me up and said are you going to hit like your grandfather i didn't known what to say i just looked at his face and he kissed me on the cheek and put me down. WOW WHAT A MOMENT
